The 12th Peaks & Dales run on June 8th, saw in nearly 100 Classic Cars & Motorcycles taking part, and raising money for Charity. 2009 will see the run taking place again Departing from Marple, near Stockport, on what could be a 90+ miles adventure around the scenic Derbyshire Peaks and Dales, (with the occasional excursion into surrounding counties). This entertaining day concludes at the Pavilion Gardens at Buxton where participants vehicles will be on display. Plaques will be given to commemorate the event along with prizes for 'Car and Motorcycle of the Day' chosen by our guest speaker.

In past years the event has been a great success and in addition to enticing a number of people and their beloved vehicles out for the day, it has raised money for our chosen charities. The charity we are supporting in 2008 is Stockport Talking Newspaper, (Registered Charity N° 507108), which records excerpts from the local Newspaper, the Stockport Express, on CD or Cassette, for Visually Impared People.

This year we announced the 12th run, again with a reduced mileage for the older vehicle if desired.

The Entrance Fee for the run was £14.00, for this entrants were provided with the following.

* Free Tea & Biscuits, at the start point. (Bacon Barms were also available for a modest price.)

* Route pack, including detailed maps, check point cards and Rally Board.

* A Plaque was given out on Completion of the run.

* and a Navigator's Scroll given out on Completion of the run.

* Finally, we provided Breakdown Back-up, but everybody completed the run without mishap.

There is now a forum on this website for the entrants to make their comments known, and then, if there is space for any improvements, suggestions can be, certainly, considered.

In addition to the above event, H&H CVC will be holding their 16th Classic Vehicle Show at Wyevale Garden Centre, Marple. On Sunday September 7th, 2008. If you would like to exhibit your vehicle please Contact the Club Secretary by email, There won't be any charge, we'd just like to see youir vehicle on display.
